By Chaplain Lt Col Eli Seidman, PA ARNG Ret.
Mark Twain once wrote that Jews fell short
And that their country they did not support,
They did not fight to preserve the union
And weren’t patriots was his conclusion
But Jewish vets then told their story
They had indeed served in the military.
To his credit, Twain reacted,
Apologized and he retracted.
To this day, whenever they’re needed
Jews have stepped up and proceeded
To do their duty. You can ever depend
They will be ready and willing to defend.
