Mark Twain once wrote that Jews fell short

And that their country they did not support,

They did not fight to preserve the union

And weren’t patriots was his conclusion

But Jewish vets then told their story

They had indeed served in the military.

To his credit, Twain reacted,

Apologized and he retracted.

To this day, whenever they’re needed

Jews have stepped up and proceeded

To do their duty. You can ever depend

They will be ready and willing to defend.
